Sharks’ New Losing Streak Hits 3 With 2-1 Loss to Blackhawks
January 17, 2024 by William Espy
The San Jose Sharks finished their road trip at the United Center to take on the Chicago Blackhawks for the first time this season. Although there was originally quite a bit of hype around this game for Sharks fans, as it was the first time they’d have an opportunity to see superstar rookie Connor Bedard, unfortunately, he’s out with an injury. Instead, this game became known as the Macklin Celebrini Bowl as both teams will be competing for the top odds at drafting the projected first overall pick this summer.
Sharks Struggle to Gain Control in Tough Loss to Senators
January 14, 2024 by Alex Hutton
In a back-and-forth game, the San Jose Sharks took a brutal 5-4 loss to the Ottawa Senators on Saturday (Jan. 13) afternoon, allowing the winning goal with just four seconds remaining in the third period. They deserve credit for their resilience and keeping the game close despite being outplayed for most of the contest.
However, their shortcomings forced them to play a bend-not-break strategy that didn’t last for a full 60 minutes. While there were a few positives throughout the course of the game, the Sharks ultimately faced too many difficulties to overcome and suffered another loss reflective of the challenges they’ve had all season.
Sharks End 12-Game Losing Streak With 3-2 Win Over Canadiens
January 12, 2024 by William Espy
The San Jose Sharks made their annual trip to Quebec to take on the Montreal Canadiens and hoping to end their second 12-game losing streak of the season. The Canadiens were on the backend of a back-to-back on Thursday (Jan. 11), as they had played the Philadelphia Flyers in Philadelphia the night before which gave the Sharks every opportunity to win the game. The Sharks were able to achieve their goal, as they walked away with a 3-2 win.
San Jose Sharks News & Rumors: Couture, Barabanov, and More
January 10, 2024 by William Espy
The San Jose Sharks have had a lot going on in 2024. Some news was good, but there was bad as well. Here’s a look at what’s been happening so far this month.
When head coach David Quinn spoke to the media before Thursday’s (Jan. 4) game against the Winnipeg Jets, Sheng Peng of SJ Hockey Now noted that he said Logan Couture is expected to make his season debut on the upcoming road trip. The Sharks’ captain has been plagued by a lower-body injury since the start of the season and has experienced several setbacks. Considering this news came shortly after it was announced that Matt Benning will be out for the remainder of the season, it was good to hear something positive.
