Welcome to the THW Detroit Red Wings post-game report, where we bring an instant reaction, the good and bad from the game, and more from the action that transpired on the ice in tonight’s action against the Winnipeg Jets.
The Red Wings welcomed the Jets to Detroit looking to get back on the winning track after losing to the Kraken Tuesday night but ended up losing their second straight game falling to Winnipeg 4-1.
What good and bad were seen throughout the game though?
Good: Penalty Kill
The penalty kill was put to the test early in the game, having to kill off two penalties in the first period five minutes in, and were able to keep the Jets off the board with solid play from both penalty kill units. Overall the penalty kill ended up perfect on the night, killing all three powerplay opportunities the Jets got. They limited the high-quality chances the Jets were able to get and goalie James Reimer made some timely saves to help keep the Wings in the game early on.
