Welcome to the THW Detroit Red Wings post-game report, where we bring an instant reaction, recap, and analysis of the action that transpired on the ice in tonight’s action against the Ottawa Senators.
The Red Wings traveled to Ottawa for their first matchup against the Senators and Alex DeBrincat’s first game back after being traded this last offseason.
After withstanding a quick start by the Senators that included a goal from Jake Sandesron with just under three minutes left in the first period, the Wings got on the board thanks to a powerplay goal from Shayne Gostisbehere off a solid pass from captain Dylan Larkin. Ville Husso started off solid in the net yet again, stopping 13 of the 14 first-period shots he faced.
