It’s all but guaranteed at this point that Boston University center Macklin Celebrini will be the first overall pick in the 2024 Draft. He has the potential to be a franchise-altering superstar with game-breaking offensive skills to go with a really complete defensive skill set. While Celebrini may not be at the Connor Bedard level of talent, he is certainly an above-average talent when compared to other first-overall picks.
2023-24 Bridgeport Islanders: A Season Filled With Lessons

The Bridgeport Islanders finished their American Hockey League (AHL) season with a 4-1 victory over the Providence Bruins. A season that ended by taking down one of the league’s top teams was a rare bright spot for the disappointing Islanders. The team had just 28 wins in the 72-game schedule and sat at the bottom of the league the entire way. Despite the frustrating season, there were a few bright spots and a lot of lessons learned.
Moose Eliminated From Playoffs After Tumultuous, Resilient Season

The Manitoba Moose were quickly dispatched in the Calder Cup Playoffs this week, getting swept by the Texas Stars in the best-of-three Central Division first-round series. The series, played entirely in Texas to determine who faces the number-one Central seed in the second round, was not kind to the Winnipeg Jets’ American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate. In Tuesday’s Game 1, the Moose got out to an early 1-0 lead but then allowed four straight and saw their third-period comeback fall short, ultimately falling 6-3.

Roadrunners Can’t Beat Dustin Wolf, Lose Game 1

The Tucson Roadrunners came into the playoffs on a high note, finishing second in the Pacific Division with one of their best records in franchise history. With the hype around a lot of their stars returning from stints in the NHL, it seemed like the seventh-seed Calgary Wranglers who only won one game in April stood no chance. However, the Roadrunners ran into the unstoppable force known as Dustin Wolf as he singlehandedly dragged the Wranglers to a 2-0 win to capture game one. Here are some takeaways from Wednesday night’s game.
