Rangers Prospect Spotlight: Dylan Roobroeck
Mar 20, 2024 by Jesse Courville-Lynch (Premium Substack Content)
The New York Rangers have a strong prospect pool, and many fans know the names of some of the top prospects coming up. Brennan Othmann, Gabriel Perreault, and Ryder Korczak are just a few players who could be big parts of the Rangers’ future, but another prospect has made big waves this season and deserves extra recognition. His name is Dylan Roobroeck.
Rangers Figuring Out Their 3rd Line Will Be Key to Playoff Success
April 7, 2024 by Brian Abate
The New York Rangers’ forward depth took a big hit when they lost Filip Chytil for the season after a suspected concussion. They also lost Blake Wheeler for the season after a lower-body injury and Kaapo Kakko for six weeks with a lower-body injury. The injuries made it difficult to piece together a reliable third line.
Now, Kakko is healthy and he is playing alongside rookie winger Will Cuylle and newly acquired center Alexander Wennberg. The line has contributed offensively while playing very well defensively. The trio will be key for the Rangers as they look to make a run this postseason.
Rangers Hoping Goodrow’s Recent Game Is Start of a Resurgence
April 7, 2024 by Tom Castro
Though it’s probably unlikely that the New York Rangers‘ 4-3 victory over the Detroit Red Wings on April 5 ends up being a first-round playoff preview, the Blueshirts had to be encouraged by a performance that they’ll need to duplicate at times to win in a postseason tournament that’s less than two weeks away.
All the more promising was the fact that no player was more integral to earning the two points than Barclay Goodrow.
The Rangers can only hope that the snarling, big-goal scoring version of their veteran forward – exactly the version that compelled general manager Chris Drury to give the 31-year-old an onerous contract that’s not aging well – is the one who sticks around into the spring.
Similarities Between the 2023-24 Rangers & the 2014-15 Team
April 4, 2024 by Lucas Standel
The New York Rangers are one of the favorites to win the President’s Trophy as the top team during the regular season. The last time they won the trophy was during the 2014-15 season and to end that season, they went to Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Final losing to the Tampa Bay Lightning. As of this writing, they currently have a one-point lead over the Dallas Stars for the top spot in the entire league. Winning the Presidents Trophy would give the Rangers home ice throughout the entire playoffs and that could be a huge advantage. When looking at the 2014-15 team that won the trophy, there are some similarities between that team and this one. Let’s look at some of these similarities and see what, or who could be the difference-maker as the playoffs get closer.
