Bruins’ Poitras Earned NHL Opportunity
October 6, 2023 by Brandon Share Cohen
Poitras came into camp looking for a spot on the NHL roster, just as every player in the same opportunity would, but he showed out in a way that now seemingly makes it impossible for Montgomery to avoid giving him at least a few games of real NHL game action.
3 Takeaways From Bruins’ 3-1 Win Over the Rangers
October 6, 2023 by Michael DeRosa
Heading into last night’s (Oct. 5) contest against the New York Rangers, the Boston Bruins were hungry for a win. They had been on a four-game losing streak, which included two overtime losses. Although it is only the preseason and games matter far less, it is never a good feeling to lose so often. Thankfully for the Bruins, they broke their four-game losing streak, defeating the Rangers by a 3-1 final score. It was not the prettiest game for the Bruins, as they had just 15 shots on goal. Yet, they still got the win, and here are three takeaways from the game.
Bruins’ Danton Heinen Should Make 2023-24 NHL Roster
October 5, 2023 by Hannah Garfield
While his first stint with the Bruins organization was not particularly remarkable, he has a pretty solid shot at making the roster this season. He has earned praise at training camp and performed well in preseason games. He has also slipped into a nice position in the bottom-six and looks comfortable on the ice – unlike the team’s other PTO, Alex Chiasson, who never quite built any momentum and was released from his tryout on Oct. 1.
Heinen, who is coming off a season with the Pittsburgh Penguins that really wasn’t that bad, is looking like a pretty safe bet to make the roster out of training camp in a bottom-six role.
