Panthers Can Fit Patrick Kane on Their Roster
November 22, 2023 by Joey Ganzi
The Florida Panthers are having a great start to their season. They’re currently 12-5-1 and sit second in the Atlantic Division behind only the Boston Bruins. A good chunk of this performance has come without their top two defensemen in Aaron Ekblad and Brandon Montour, who returned to the lineup last week.
This team is looking to get back to the postseason and get another chance at the Stanley Cup. As a result, they are looking for some extra help in the free agency pool. One of the most notable names in that is the former superstar of the Chicago Blackhawks in forward Patrick Kane. This comes after a short stint with the New York Rangers.
However, he is coming off of hip surgery this past summer, so he could not find a new home right away. There are rumors going around that the Panthers are very aggressive in trying to acquire the 34-year-old forward. The big question that remains for general manager Bill Zito is, how can he bring him to Sunrise?
Huberdeau Trade Back to Panthers is a Pipe Dream
November 16, 2023 by Joey Ganzi
On Tuesday, Nov. 14, Calgary Flames forward Jonathan Huberdeau did not play a single minute in the third period against the Nashville Predators after he was benched. Two summers ago, he and defenseman MacKenzie Weegar were traded to the Flames in a blockbuster trade that gave the Cats Matthew Tkachuk. This season, he only has two goals and seven assists through 15 games and a minus-13 rating. Two seasons ago, he scored the most points in a single season in Panthers history and by a left winger in NHL history with 115 (30 goals, 85 assists).
The same day that Huberdeau was shown as a defeated man in Calgary, fans were imagining his possible return to Sunrise, Florida. It almost seemed as if it was the common advertisement on TV to bring in a homeless pet with the popular song “Angel” by Sarah McLachlan in the background. This would be a beautiful homecoming, but it is unfortunately a pipe dream.
Panthers’ Reinhart Is Performing at an MVP Level in Contract Year
November 8, 2023 by Joey Ganzi
The Florida Panthers have finished their first month of the season as defending Eastern Conference champions. They currently sit at 6-4-1 with 13 points, sitting two points behind the Detroit Red Wings for third in the Atlantic Division, and are tied for the second wild card spot behind the New York Islanders.
One big reason Florida has found themselves winning games has been the red-hot forward in Sam Reinhart as he’s off to a great start to his 2023-24 campaign. He is showing everyone why he deserves a new contract.
