The Edmonton Oilers fell down 1-0 in their series with the Canucks after allowing Vancouver to come back from a 4-1 deficit. Now the Oilers have to try and steal a game on the road and potentially without Leon Draisaitl and Adam Henrique.

Oilers Forward Zach Hyman’s Legend Grows With Jersey Gift to Shaq
May 10, 2024 by Brian Swane
Sports fans across the continent and around the world were glued to their screens Wednesday (May 8), watching some of the biggest names in hockey and basketball during the NHL and NBA Playoffs.
Connor McDavid. Leon Draisaitl. Quinn Hughes. J.T. Miller. Jalen Brunson. Tyrese Haliburton. Pascal Siakam. It was a smorgasbord of MVPs and All-Stars in each sport, but only one player was the star of both: Edmonton Oilers winger Zach Hyman. Or, as the world has come to know him, “Shaq” Hyman.
Oilers’ Coach Provides Injury Update on Leon Draisaitl
May 9, 2024 by Jim Parsons
Leon Draisaitl left the game between the Edmonton Oilers and Vancouver Canucks in the second period, went to the locker room, and didn’t return as the second intermission began. It wasn’t clear what kind of injury he might have suffered and broadcast analysts tried to figure out where and when he might have suffered something that would have kept a genuinely tough player out of action. It turns out, according to the Oilers coach, that it was cramping and equipment issues.

Oilers/Canucks Series Will Be Decided by Goaltending
May 8, 2024 by Dale Bochon
In a second round Stanley Cup playoff series featuring stars such as Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl, Quinn Hughes, and Elias Pettersson, the difference between the Edmonton Oilers and Vancouver Canucks will most likely come down to goaltending. I wouldn’t be so quick to give the advantage to Stuart Skinner and the Oilers, especially after the performance Canucks goaltender Arturs Silovs put in versus the Nashville Predators. Silovs, who started the playoffs as the third-string goalie on the Canucks roster behind Thatcher Demko and Casey DeSmith, found himself starting Game 4 against the Predators after both Demko and DeSmith went down with injuries and has never relinquished the net.
Oilers vs. Canucks: Playoff History by the Numbers
May 7, 2024 by Brian Swane
This is only the third time that the Edmonton Oilers and Vancouver Canucks will face each other in a Stanley Cup Playoff series. Despite being in the same division since the Oilers joined the NHL in 1979, the two Western Canadian teams have only ever crossed paths in the postseason twice – and the last time was over 32 years ago. In 1986, the Oilers swept Vancouver in the best-of-five Smythe Division Semi-Final. Six years later, Edmonton beat the Canucks 4-2 in the best-of-seven Smythe Division Final. That’s it.
