Winnipeg Jets Need to Consider Dealing Nate Schmidt
December 5, 2023 by Conrad Jack
The Winnipeg Jets have been consistent playoff contenders bolstered by a talented roster in recent years. Nevertheless, every successful team must make tough decisions to ensure long-term success. Nate Schmidt‘s overall performance and defensive shortcomings have occasionally overshadowed his offensive contributions, leading to concerns over his consistency and defensive reliability.
Considering the team’s aspirations for championship contention and the possibility of acquiring a more robust, well-rounded defenceman, exploring a trade involving Schmidt becomes a compelling course of action. In this piece, we look at why the Jets should consider trading him due to his underwhelming performance and its impact on the team’s potential.
3 Takeaways from Jets’ Nino Niederreiter Extension
December 4, 2023 by Connor Hrabchak
On Monday, Dec 4, the Winnipeg Jets announced a three-year contract extension with Nino Niederreiter, worth $4 million per season. Niederreiter expressed his joy to reporters after practice, stating: “I’m very happy to be here, and I think we have a good chance in the coming years to be an elite team, and I’m happy to be a part of it.”

The team has put together a record of 13-8-2, which keeps them above a .500 win percentage.
The Jets have just passed the quarter mark in the season. When you look at the lineup, they have performed above average at even-strength play. Looking at the past 23 games, the lineup at the forward and defense positions has been worth questioning. With 59 games remaining in the season, here are some players and trends to focus on.
