Maple Leafs News & Rumors: Matthews, Samsonov & Nylander Â
February 16, 2024 by The Old Prof
In a too-thrilling-than-it-had-to-be game at Scotiabank Arena, the Toronto Maple Leafs gave up another two-goal lead to allow the visiting Philadelphia Flyers to push them to overtime. Fortunately, the Maple Leafs won the overtime draw, played it perfectly, and won in less than a minute. They held onto the puck until a fresh William Nylander jumped on in a change, took a great pass from Timothy Liljegren, and scored the game-winning goal.
Maple Leafs: Auston Matthews Shines In Win Over Flyers
February 16, 2024 by Jesse Courville-Lynch
The Toronto Maple Leafs are coming off a hard-fought win over the St. Louis Blues, highlighted by the strong performance of forward Bobby McMann, who netted a hat trick. Coming into their matchup against the Philadelphia Flyers, the Maple Leafs were reloaded with Mitch Marner, William Nylander, and John Tavares returning after missing one game with an illness.
Maple Leafs Should Think Twice About Proposed Mega-Trade
February 15, 2024 by Jim Parsons
As the NHL trade deadline looms, trade speculation is heating up, with insiders suggesting all sorts of interesting trade scenarios. Yesterday was particularly fun because it was Valentine’s Day and the idea of matchmaking two teams took center stage. However, not all trade scenarios have much weight to them. In fact, some should be approached with extreme caution.
Maple Leafs News & Rumors: Samsonov, Jones, Nylander & Domi
February 15, 2024 by The Old Prof
Tonight, the Toronto Maple Leafs play the Philadelphia Flyers. The Flyers are on a hot streak, but so were the St. Louis Blues when they came to town. And a banged-up and undermanned Maple Leafs team handled the Blues quite easily to come away with a 4-1 win. As far as the game goes, here’s what I think Maple Leafs fans should be looking for in tonight’s game against the Flyers.
2 Defensemen Maple Leafs Should Avoid Trading For at Deadline
February 14, 2024 by Jesse Courville-Lynch
The Toronto Maple Leafs will be looking to buy at the 2024 Trade Deadline. They haven’t quite lived up to expectations and find themselves fighting to keep their playoff hopes alive as after a big win over the St. Louis Blues, they sit fourth in the Atlantic Division with 62 points and hold the first Eastern Conference wild-card spot. As a team with high hopes heading into the postseason, it isn’t a surprise that they have recently been linked to several players on rebuilding teams. They will surely be looking to bolster their lineup before the March 8 deadline date, but there are a couple of names they should look to avoid acquiring.

Maple Leafs: Morgan Reilly Appealing Five-Game Suspension
February 14, 2024 by Jesse Courville-Lynch
The Toronto Maple Leafs have had a lot of news surrounding them lately, but nothing more interesting than the events that unfolded in the Feb. 10 game against the Ottawa Senators where defenseman Morgan Reilly responded to Senators forward Ridly Greig taking a slap shot into an empty net. Instead of hitting him lightly or letting it go, Reilly chose to cross-check Greig in the face and was ultimately given a five-game suspension for his actions.
