Washington Capitals 2024 Draft Target: Liam Greentree
June 18, 2024 by Nathan Moser
There are ample quality forwards in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft who could be available for the Washington Capitals to pick from. One of the wingers who general manager Brian MacLellan and his staff could choose is right winger Liam Greentree of the Windsor Spitfires in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). If Washington can get their hands on Greentree and he reaches his potential, they will have a significant weapon who will help drive their offense for many seasons to come.
Washington Capitals 2024 Draft Target: Carter Yakemchuk
June 18, 2024 by Nathan Moser
There are plenty of options for the Washington Capitals if they decide to pick a defenseman with the 17th-overall selection in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft. Adam Jiricek is one example of a blueliner they could pick. Another is Carter Yakemchuk from the Calgary Hitmen in the Western Hockey League (WHL). He is one of the offensive defensemen who could bolster any NHL defense if he transitions his game well over to the pros. The Capitals should heavily consider selecting him if he is available at pick 17.

Capitals Have History on Their Side With 17th Pick
June 15, 2024 by Nathan Moser
The Washington Capitals are currently selecting with the 17th overall pick in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft. They have held this exact spot on multiple occasions before throughout their history. The 17th selection in general has produced some well-known names throughout the NHL. In both instances, it is a bit of a mixed bag of results between solid NHL talents and players who did not play much in the league or did not make it at all.
Patrik Laine Should Be on the Capitals’ Trade Radar
June 14, 2024 by Nathan Moser
After being swept by the New York Rangers in the first round of the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs, Washington Capitals general manager Brian MacLellan is looking to try and improve his team so they can have a stronger roster for the 2024-25 season. One potential trade idea that he could consider is bringing in Columbus Blue Jackets forward Patrik Laine. Laine and Columbus are currently working on shipping the 26-year-old to his next team according to TSN’s Pierre LeBrun during a segment of Insider Trading, and it is something that MacLellan might think about.
Washington Capitals 2024 Draft Target: Cole Eiserman
June 13, 2024 by Nathan Moser
One prospect available in the upcoming 2024 NHL Entry Draft, who has caught the eye of many in the hockey world, is forward Cole Eiserman of the USA Hockey National Team Development Program (or USNTDP) in the United States Hockey League (USHL). He is projected to go anywhere from the top five to as low as 16th overall. Given his skill set, it is understandable why he is a popular choice to be considered near the top of the draft.
