Canadiens Sign Jared Davidson; Forego Rights to 3 Players
June 2, 2024 by Karine Hains
When a prospect gets drafted by an NHL team, they may feel like they made it, like the hardest part is over but that’s seldom the case unless you are a generational player. Connor McDavid and Sidney Crosby arrived in the NHL straight after being drafted, but most drafted players are a work in process. The deeper you go in a draft, the more unlikely you’ll be a top player in the NHL; there are exceptions, but not many. Canadiens Face Big Dilemma Over Size with 2024 First-Round Pick
June 2, 2024 by Ryan Szporer
It’s about as much of a foregone conclusion as possible that the Canadiens will take a forward with their first, first-round pick at the 2024 NHL Entry Draft. However, they’ll have several options, based on how the first four picks ahead of them will realistically go. It could theoretically come down to the 6-foot-4 Cayden Lindstrom (210 pounds) or 5-foot-11 Berkly Catton (170 pounds), if some combination of forwards Macklin Celebrini, Ivan Demidov and Tij Iginla and top-projected-defenseman Artyom Levshunov go before.
