Today in Hockey History: Feb. 23
Feb. 23 has been an extremely busy day throughout National Hockey League history. There was a little bit of everything with some major come-from-behind performances, team record being set, and plenty of personal milestones getting hit. The THW time machine is fired up so let’s hop in and relive the best moments this date has had to offer.
“Miracle on Ice” 40 Years Later: Where Are They Now?
In the 2004 film, Miracle, Kurt Russell, who plays Herb Brooks, talked about the best moment of the 1980 Olympics experience, and he refers to the team gathering together on the podium saying, “Well it was here. Along the road to 500, these guys have also accumulated some amazing distinctions that help define their spectacular careers.

Toronto Maple Leafs Trade Deadline History
At the 2022 NHL Trade Deadline, the Toronto Maple Leafs were right in the middle of all the drama. They had been linked to just about everybody, including forwards, defensemen, and goaltenders. Prior to the deadline passing, former THW writer Alex Hobson took a look at the Maple Leafs trade deadline history.
