Brad Marchand’s Antics Should Motivate the Maple Leafs
April 25, 2024 by Karine Hains
The NHL Playoffs may be played on the ice, but teams aren’t just trying to score more goals than their opponents, they’re also trying to get into their heads. Sometimes it happens naturally when a goalie is on a roll and becomes unbeatable in the mind of the other team’s players, think Jaroslav Halak during the Washington Capitals and Pittsburgh Penguins series in the spring of 2010. Other times, psychological warfare happens in the media where players try to steal the show with the quote of the day, think Patrick Roy after being provoked by Jeremy Roenick.
Bruins Take Game 3, Grab Home Ice Back From the Maple Leafs
April 24, 2024 by Jim Bay
Brad Marchand had two goals and an assist to lead the Boston Bruins to a 4-2 victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs on Wednesday (April 24) and take a 2-1 lead in the series.
After a scoreless first period, Matthew Knies tipped a Mitch Marner pass over Bruins goaltender Jeremy Swayman to open the scoring almost seven minutes into the second period.
With the helper, Marner posted his 38th career playoff assist to tie Red Kelly and Mats Sundin for third on the Maple Leafs
all-time list. He now trails Doug Gilmour (60) and Darryl Sittler (40).

Bruins Playoffs Notebook: DeBrusk, Power Play & Goaltending Solid So Far
April 24, 2024 by Nick Abramo
Jake DeBrusk is one of the Boston Bruins’ most polarizing players in terms of fan perception. You either love him or you want him shipped away.
It’s hard to deny, though, that the seven-year veteran left wing has been mighty valuable in the first two games of the opening-round playoff matchup against the Toronto Maple Leafs, a series that is tied 1-1 after the Maple Leafs’ 3-2 win Monday at TD Garden.
You’re misquoting Marchand he said “there’s 35 seconds left”
