November 20, 2023 by Jim Parsons
In today’s NHL rumors rundown, talks between the Toronto Maple Leafs and William Nylander have not gone off the rails, according to one insider. That said, the cost to keep him is going up. Meanwhile, Patrik Laine didn’t take the news that he was being scratched very well. What’s next for the Columbus Blue Jackets? The cost to move Jack Campbell could be very high for the Edmonton Oilers. Finally, after news of his arrest, what’s going on with Milan Lucic and the Boston Bruins?
Sabres News & Rumors: Dahlin, Johnson, Peterka & Skinner
November 20, 2023 by The Old Prof
With Tage Thompson injured, the Buffalo Sabres had to rely on someone else to lead the team. It seemed that veteran defenseman Rasmus Dahlin pointed to himself on Sunday night (Nov. 19). He delivered in style. Dahlin’s solid performance, featuring a goal and two assists, pushed the Sabres to a 3-2 win over the Chicago Blackhawks.
After the game, Dahlin emphasized the team’s resilience: “We found a way to win. It wasn’t pretty, but we found a way to win. That’s what I take away from this game.” The Sabres’ Erik Johnson’s goal broke a third-period tie and Buffalo claimed a much-needed victory. Jeff Skinner also scored for the Sabres and the team ended its three-game slide. In this edition of Sabres News & Rumors, I’ll take a look at the players who stepped up to make a difference last night.

Bruins News & Rumors: Geekie, DeBrusk, Coyle & More
November 20, 2023 by Michael DeRosa
In this latest edition of Boston Bruins News & Rumors, forward Morgan Geekie has taken a positive step with his recovery from his undisclosed injury. Meanwhile, Jake DeBrusk ended a four-game pointless streak against the Montreal Canadiens on Nov. 18.
Could this spark the 2015 first-round pick to get back on track? Furthermore, Charlie Coyle has had a great start to the season and is not showing signs of slowing down. Let’s discuss all of this and more in today’s (Nov 20) Bruins News & Rumors column.
Maple Leafs News & Rumors: Nylander, Samsonov, Bertuzzi & Tavares
November 18, 2023 by The Old Prof
For the first two periods, it looked as if William Nylander’s point streak could be broken. However, in the end, the Toronto Maple Leafs came back to score a dramatic comeback win in Stockholm, Sweden, against Tyler Bertuzzi’s former Detroit Red Wings. The game was a thrilling part of the NHL’s Global Series; and, the Maple Leafs were able to overturn a two-goal deficit for a 3-2 against the team that had been just ahead of them in the Atlantic Division standings.
The win was the Maple Leafs’ third straight. They fought through some bad luck in the first two periods of the game to hang in there until the luck changed. But, make no mistake. Nylander was the difference. Although he wasn’t born in Sweden (instead was born in Calgary, Alberta, when his dad played for the Flames), his standout performance in front of his home crowd carried his blue and white team to the win.
