Maple Leafs Could Use Both Tanev & Zadorov From the Flames

When Elliotte Friedman from the 32 Thoughts podcast reported on Nov. 6, 2023, that the Toronto Maple Leafs are interested in both Nikita Zadorov and Chris Tanev from the Calgary Flames, fans got excited. The Maple Leafs need to rebuild their backend now, and players of this magnitude will do that, which is what fans recognized from the start of the season.
Henrik Lundqvist Impressed by William Nylander’s Rise to NHL Star

When he played, former New York Rangers Hall-of-Fame goaltender Henrik Lundqvist was known as “The King.” In an interview on Tuesday, Lundqvist joined Nick Kypreos and Justin Bourne to discuss what it was like as a Swede to watch the 2023 Global Series in Stockholm. During the interview, Lundqvist talked about knowing William Nylander as a little kid when he (Lundqvist) and Michael Nylander played together. Even then, he was impressed by the young Nylander’s performances.
Maple Leafs’ Easton Cowan A World Junior Hopeful

When his name was called at the 2023 NHL Draft in the first round, the Toronto Maple Leafs had the hockey world looking for answers. How could this player — projected as a second to third-round pick — move up to being a first-round selection?
Still, the Maple Leafs took Easton Cowan with the 28th overall pick and the London Knights’ forward has made noise since he was returned to his OHL club. The 18-year-old has eight goals and 27 points in just 16 games since returning to the Knights and is on pace for a career year of 107 points.

With all of the angst surrounding the Toronto Maple Leafs’ slow start to the season, they might be happy to know that following their 4-3 win over the Minnesota Wild in Stockholm, Sweden, on Sunday (Nov. 19), the Maple Leafs are one point ahead of where they were last season after 17 games.
