Maple Leafs Make Right Call With Nick Robertson Call-Up
November 6, 2023 by Michael DeRosa
Right before the start of the 2023-24 season, Nick Robertson was one of the Toronto Maple Leafs‘ final roster cuts. From there, he was sent down to the American Hockey League (AHL) to play for the Toronto Marlies. Although this was a frustrating development for Robertson, he has done very well so far this season. As a result, the young forward was called up to the Maple Leafs’ roster today (Nov. 6), and he is now a must-watch player. Let’s go over a few specific reasons why bringing up Roberton to the NHL roster is the right call for the Maple Leafs and why it could end up benefitting both the team and the player.
Hockey Analyst Calls Maple Leafs Game Brutal
November 6, 2023 by The Old Prof
On Saturday night in a back-and-forth game at Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena, the Buffalo Sabres and the Toronto Maple Leafs engaged in a high-scoring battle that saw Buffalo emerge victorious with a 6-4 win. While the game included some incredible offensive performances, including Auston Matthews’ third hat trick of the season, by and large, the Maple Leafs simply seemed to play uninspired – at least for long stretches of time – hockey. They were up and down, but in the end down at the wrong time.
Domi On What Maple Leafs Need to Get Offence Going [Video]
November 6, 2023 by Michael DeRosa
For many seasons, the Toronto Maple Leafs‘ offence has been their bread and butter. So far this season, their star forwards have once again been impactful. Auston Matthews has three hat tricks already. William Nylander is currently on a franchise-record 11-game season-opening point streak. Meanwhile, both Mitch Marner and John Tavares are producing at an over a point-per-game pace. So, things are fine with the Maple Leafs’ offence, right? Actually, no.
Bruins Need to Closely Watch Tyler Bertuzzi Situation in Toronto
November 6, 2023 by Michael DeRosa
The Boston Bruins had many subtractions during the 2023 NHL Offseason, and Tyler Bertuzzi was among the most notable. With the Bruins being in salary cap hell and needing to fill out several spots on their roster, they rightfully ended negotiations with Bertuzzi once free agency began. From there, the 28-year-old signed a one-year, $5 million deal with the Toronto Maple Leafs. Keagan Stiefel of NESN brought up the prospect of Bertuzzi returning to Boston in a recent article.
Maple Leafs’ Fight a No Show After Liljegren Injury
November 5, 2023 by Peter Baracchini
When the Toronto Maple Leafs brought in Ryan Reaves, the hope was that his vocal presence and mentality would have a trickle-down effect to everyone on the team. For too long, this team has lacked the ability to stand up for one another and show that they care when an injury occurs or get pushed around.
Boston Bruins forward Brad Marchand’s can-opener on Maple Leafs defenseman Timothy Liljegren shows that there is a major lack of comradery and support for one another on this team. During the first intermission of that game, Nick Kypreos laid into the team about the lack of response when a dangerous play was committed on their teammate. And rightfully so.
