Avalanche Prospect Calum Ritchie Talks Draft, OHL & Future
December 18, 2023 by Stefano Rubino
At the 2023 NHL Entry Draft, the Colorado Avalanche were among the few teams to have multiple first-round picks, including their original pick at 27 and pick 31, which they received in the deal that sent Alex Newhook to the Montreal Canadiens in return for other compensation (that pick originally came from the Florida Panthers when they traded for Ben Chariot when he was with the Canadiens.)
With pick 31, the Avalanche selected Mikhail Gulyayev, a defenseman from the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). Avalanche’s MacKinnon on Another Historic Run
December 14, 2023 by Kerry Collins

Seeing runs like this from MacKinnon is nothing new, but he has a chance to match his career-best streak of 15 games this weekend. Here’s a look back at some of MacKinnon’s most memorable surges.

December 13, 2023 by Marko Zlomislic
When the Colorado Avalanche acquired veteran center Ryan Johansen in a trade with the Nashville Predators this past offseason, the organization hoped that the hole at second-line center had finally been filled for the first time since Nazem Kadri left as a free agent during the 2022 offseason.
Instead, Johansen’s gradual drop in production and similarly declining usage after a hot start to his NHL tenure has caused questions about the roster to resurface, particularly as it pertains to adding another top-six center.

The 2023-24 season for the Colorado Avalanche has been going well so far if you ask many. Currently first in the Central Divison, top guys, including Nathan Mackinnon and Cale Makar, are producing significantly, and offseason acquisitions like Miles Wood and Ross Colton have proved wonderfully down the lines. It wouldn’t hurt to see what’s on the Avalanche wishlist going into 2024, right? Will ole Saint Nick be able to secure the needs of what the Avalanche wishes? Let us see
