During the second round of the NHL Draft (June 29), the Tampa Bay Lightning traded another player to free up space in their salary cap. They sent Tanner Jeannot to the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for the 118th overall pick in the 2024 Draft and a 2025 second-round pick.
Los Angeles Kings Draft Liam Greentree 26th Overall
June 28, 2024 by Matthew Zator
Liam Greentree is a big winger who looks like he could be a great all-round player in the NHL someday if he can make some improvements to his acceleration. Greentree was excellent in the OHL this season for a rebuilding Windsor Spitfires team. He finished the season in the top 20 for goals and points in the OHL which is really impressive for a draft eligible player on a weaker team.

The Montreal Canadiens have acquired the 21st overall pick in the 2024 NHL Draft from the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for the 26th, 57th, and 198th overall picks. The Kings now have one second-round pick since they traded away their own second-round pick to dump Cal Petersen’s contract. The Canadiens move up five spots in the first round.
