Maple Leafs Missed Out on Potential Tomas Hertl Blockbuster
March 9, 2024 by Jesse Courville-Lynch
The Toronto Maple Leafs had a quiet trade deadline this season and didn’t make a huge move to bring in a superstar this season. They did add some depth pieces in Connor Dewar, Joel Edmundson, and Ilya Lyubushkin to bolster their lineup heading down the stretch this season. Still, they didn’t add any pieces that will move the needle in a way that makes them Stanley Cup favorites heading toward the postseason. The Vegas Golden Knights were the unofficial winners of the 2024 Trade Deadline, bringing in Anthony Mantha and Noah Hanifin, but they shocked the hockey world by pulling off a deal with the San Jose Sharks to bring in superstar forward Tomas Hertl.
Sheldon Keefe’s Changes Since Kyle Dubas Left the Maple Leafs
March 9, 2024 by The Old Prof
One notable change in the Toronto Maple Leafs’ 2023-24 season has been the separation of Head Coach Sheldon Keefe from the team’s former general manager (GM) Kyle Dubas. Many Maple Leafs fans seem to believe that coach Keefe and GM Dubas were close and, because they’ve worked together for so long, were on the same page when it comes to running a team. It’s almost as if the two have shared a brain, particularly in their approach to how hockey is best played.Â

Maple Leafs’ 2024 Trade Deadline Was Disastrous
March 9, 2024 by JP Gambatese
The Toronto Maple Leafs entered the trade deadline with a set agenda: fix the right side on defense and address the depth goal-scoring problems that have been plaguing them all season. After Friday’s trade deadline concluded, the GM Brad Treliving didn’t solve either of those problems. In fact, he sent out a decent amount of assets for players who are arguably net negatives, even with better potential alternatives up for grabs. Unfortunately, it was a predictable unfolding of events for Treliving, considering his history with prior teams.
Toronto Maple Leafs 2024 Trade Deadline Recap
March 9, 2024 by Spencer Lazary
Well, it’s over. The 2024 NHL Trade Deadline had such buildup behind it because there are so many Stanley Cup contenders. One of those teams that are contenders is the Toronto Maple Leafs. Ran by Brad Treliving in his first season with the club, he had little to work with but tried to put his stamp on the team.
