Rick Nash Named GM of Canada’s World Championship Team

On Tuesday afternoon, Hockey Canada announced that Columbus Blue Jackets director of player development Rick Nash has been named as their general manager for the upcoming IIHF World Championship in Czechia. The tournament will take place May 10 through 26, with Canada’s first game coming on May 11 against Great Britain.

Blue Jackets Defeat Sharks 4-2, Sweep Season Series

On Saturday, the San Jose Sharks visited the Columbus Blue Jackets as the two teams finished their season series. Their last game was a 4-3 Blue Jackets win, thanks to a very late goal by Boone Jenner in the third period that prevented overtime.
This time, it was a more convincing win on paper for Columbus, but it was a game that could’ve gone either way. The Blue Jackets walked out with a 4-2 victory, but the Sharks were arguably the better team, which isn’t something we’ve been able to say often this season. Goaltending let the team in teal down, giving the home team a major advantage.
Blue Jackets’ Alex Nylander Has Golden Opportunity to Succeed

Alex Nylander is no stranger to outdoor games. Just last season as a member of the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, he participated in the outdoor game played at First Energy Stadium in Cleveland. While the Penguins eventually lost that game in overtime, it was a day he wouldn’t soon forget.
