Seattle Kraken’s 2023-24 Team MVP Candidates

With the Seattle Kraken’s 5-2 defeat at the hands of the Los Angeles Kings on Wednesday night – courtesy of a rather deflating performance – the club is now officially eliminated from postseason contention. With only seven matches left before the Kraken unpack their lockers, it’s safe to conclude that the campaign was a disappointment. Even so, every club has bright spots, and one player in particular stood out among the fray. In that spirit, we list the candidates as to who the club’s most valuable player was this season and make our pick.
Matty Beniers Collects Point 100 with 2nd Period Goal Against Ducks

In a dominant second period for the Seattle Kraken against the Anaheim Ducks on Friday night, Matty Beniers recorded his 14th goal of the season to give him 100 career points. After a spectacular rookie season – 24 goals, 33 assists – that earned him the Calder Memorial Trophy as the NHL’s Rookie of the Year, Beniers has experienced a bit of a sophomore slump in 2023-24. That is, except when he plays the Ducks. In four games against the club this season, he has seven points; across his career against them, he has 16.

Kraken’s Jordan Eberle Tallies Assist for 700th Career Point

In the first period of the Seattle Kraken and San Jose Sharks matchup on Monday night, Jordan Eberle, a 14-season veteran of 1,011 games, tallied the 700th point of his career when he notched the primary assist on Shane Wright’s first goal of the season. The goal gave the Kraken a 3-1 lead after the first period.
