Rangers Have Some Questions to Answer at the Halfway Point of the Season
January 22, 2024 by Jesse Courville-Lynch (Premium Substack Content)
The Rangers have been red-hot as we head through the halfway point of the 2023-24 season. They are more than ready to go all-in and make a push for a Stanley Cup this season, but there are some questions still surrounding the team at the halfway point of their campaign.
Rangers Should Not Trade Kaapo Kakko
February 3, 2024 by Lucas Standel
As we get closer to the NHL Trade Deadline on March 8, 2024, many names are going to be rumored to be on the move. One name that has come up recently for the New York Rangers is Kaapo Kakko. On a recent episode of TSN’s Insider Trading, it was reported by Darren Dreger that the Rangers were listening to calls on Kakko and that they could potentially use him in a deal if the deal was big enough and good enough that they’d have to part with him.
Rangers Reportedly Fielding Trade Calls for Kaapo Kakko
February 1, 2024 by Jesse Courville-Lynch
Despite their recent struggles heading into the All-Star Break, the New York Rangers remain one of the strongest teams in the NHL heading into February. They will likely be buyers heading towards the trade deadline as they look to strengthen their roster for a Stanley Cup run this season, but there haven’t been many connections made between the Rangers and players on the trade block around the league. On a recent segment from TSN’s Insider Trading, it was stated that the Rangers have been fielding trade calls on forward Kaapo Kakko and may consider using him as part of a trade package should they try to make a big trade.
Rangers’ History of Concussions Continues with Filip Chytil
February 1, 2024 by Brian Abate
The New York Rangers announced that Filip Chytil will miss the remainder of the season. The promising 24-year-old center set career-highs in goals (22) and assists (23) in 74 games last season. However, he suffered a suspected concussion on Nov. 2 and then had a setback in practice as he attempted to return.
Unfortunately, the Rangers have a long history of players dealing with career-altering concussions. Star forwards Eric Lindros and Rick Nash both had their careers cut short after suffering many concussions, and both retired when they were just 34. Additionally, in the early 2010s, Michael Sauer and Marc Staal, two of the Rangers’ best defensemen, both suffered career-changing concussions with very different results.
