Panthers Can’t Pay High Asking Price for Penguins’ Jake Guentzel
March, 2, 2024 by Joey Ganzi
The trade deadline is next week on Mar. 8, and Florida could be looking to bolster their lineup for a playoff push. For the past month, rumors have been circulating about the possibility of Pittsburgh Penguins forward Jake Guentzel being traded to Sunrise as his contract expires this offseason. As great as it would be, it would prove too costly for the Cats.
Noah Hanifin Should Be on the Panthers’ Trade Target List
February 29, 2024 by Joey Ganzi
Despite how electric the team has been this season, landing a big fish before the deadline is still on the table for general manager Bill Zito and company. While the defense has been great, allowing only 2.40 goals a game and 27.6 shots per game, the team is looking to make it even stronger. Multiple reports have linked the Cats to Calgary Flames defenseman Noah Hanifin. On paper, it makes a ton of sense to bring him into the fray, and with the Flames’ fire sale now started, this could happen.
Panthers Reuniting With Anthony Duclair Would Not Work
February 23, 2024 by Joey Ganzi
The trade deadline is in two weeks, and the Panthers are looking to load up their roster. Rumors have already connected them to land Calgary Flames defenseman Noah Hanafin. But more concerning is that The Athletic suggested that San Jose Sharks forward Anthony Duclair should return home to South Florida (from ‘2024 NHL trade deadline perfect fits: Proposals for Jacob Markström, Chris Tanev and more’ The Athletic, Feb. 20, 2024).
