Is Anthony Stolarz the Panthers' Backup for the Foreseeable Future?
With his pickup in play, will he be seeing more of the backup role over Spencer Knight down the line?
The Florida Panthers have been one of the best teams in the NHL . They are tied with the Boston Bruins for first in the Atlantic Division and one point behind the Vancouver Canucks for best in the NHL with a record of 39-16-4 with 82 points. Additionally, they have the best point percentage in the league at .690.
A huge factor in their success has been their goalie room. Sergei Bobrovsky has been a brick wall in net for the team with a save percentage (SV%) of .916, which is tied for sixth-best in the NHL. In addition to that, he owns a goals-against average (GAA) of 2.35, which ties for third across the league.
But what about the backup? Anthony Stolarz has come into his own since signing with the Panthers this offseason. Since then, he’s made the best of it and has been extremely reliable between the pipes.
