Hurricanes Player of the Month: Jordan Martinook
Martinook's January has been otherworldly as the forward leads the Hurricanes in goals. How has the "Marty Party" taken over in Raleighwood before the All-Star Break?
As the calendar turned to 2024, the Carolina Hurricanes were riding a three-game winning streak before facing the New York Rangers on Jan. 2 in New York. The team ended up winning that game along with the following one versus the Washington Capitals on Friday, Jan. 5. As the month went along, a familiar face who stepped up for the Hurricanes in the 2023 NHL Playoffs started to catch fire when it was needed most.
Jordan Martinook going into January had one goal for the first three months of the season. His pace at the time is well below what he finished last season with 34 points in 82 games. However, as January progressed, he started scoring at will for the Hurricanes which even saw him secure a four-game scoring streak.
