Oilers’ Henrique: 4 Things to Know About New Edmonton Forward

On Wednesday (March 6), the Edmonton Oilers acquired veteran forward Adam Henrique from the Tampa Bay Lightning in exchange for a conditional fourth-round pick in the 2025 or 2026 NHL Draft. He was first traded to Tampa Bay from the Anaheim Ducks, with whom he played 60 games this season.
Holland Confirms One More Deadline Move for Oilers in Works

The Edmonton Oilers made a big move on Wednesday, adding Adam Henrique and Sam Carrick from the Anaheim Ducks. They also added goaltender Ty Taylor and a 7th-round pick as accent pieces to make the trade work. Out of necessity, the Ducks retained salary in the trade, as did the Tampa Bay Lightning as a third-party broker. In exchange, GM Ken Holland gave up a first-round pick and a conditional 2025 fifth-round pick. Tampa gets the Oilers’ 2024 fourth-rounder for retaining another 25% on Henrique’s contract.

In today’s NHL rumors rundown, the action has already picked up and trades are steadily coming off the trade deadline board ahead of Friday’s trade deadline. Multiple names have moved, but there are still some big tickets left, including Jake Guentzel, Jordan Eberle, David Savard, Pavel Buchnevich, and Tyler Toffoli, among others.
