San Jose Sharks: Predicting Filip Zadina’s Next Contract
March 20, 2024 by William Espy
The San Jose Sharks have a few pending restricted free agents (RFAs) this season. As we get closer to the end of the regular season, and thus the end of the Sharks’ season as a whole, it’s time to start looking forward to some offseason decisions. Filip Zadina has been on a roller coaster in regards to his performance lately which makes his next deal difficult to predict. It’s not often that a 24-year-old has set their own contractual precedent either, which makes it more interesting than the average RFA negotiations as well.
Blue Jackets Defeat Sharks 4-2, Sweep Season Series
March 17, 2024 by William Espy
On Saturday, the San Jose Sharks visited the Columbus Blue Jackets as the two teams finished their season series. Their last game was a 4-3 Blue Jackets win, thanks to a very late goal by Boone Jenner in the third period that prevented overtime.
This time, it was a more convincing win on paper for Columbus, but it was a game that could’ve gone either way. The Blue Jackets walked out with a 4-2 victory, but the Sharks were arguably the better team, which isn’t something we’ve been able to say often this season. Goaltending let the team in teal down, giving the home team a major advantage.
Sharks’ Magnus Chrona Making the Most of His NHL Opportunity
March 16, 2024 by Alex Hutton
As the San Jose Sharks prepare for the final stretch of a difficult season, they are far more focused on setting up for the future. The trade deadline was one indication of this direction, and somewhat relatedly, a handful of players have seen their NHL playing time increase.
However, of the players who exemplify this trend, no one is getting a bigger chance than goalie Magnus Chrona. He has started five of the team’s last seven games, and while his performance hasn’t been perfect, he shows a lot of promise. Chrona will get further looks in the net throughout the season, and now is the time for him to prove himself as a netminder for the Sharks’ future.
