Ducks Player of the Month: Troy Terry
As the Ducks continue their quest for consistent and reliable offense, a familiar face took charge throughout the month of January.
The Anaheim Ducks find themselves enduring a rough, inconsistent, and injury-riddled 30th season. A nightly commitment to deploying about a dozen players under the age of 25, and all that comes with it, has been the theme of the campaign, after years of filling lineup holes with stopgap free agents and short-term arrangements. The youth movement was the absolutely the right call to make, but let’s not kid ourselves: it has come with its fair share of challenges.
The Ducks currently sit seventh in the Pacific Division standings with a 17-30-2 record through 49 games. Only the San Jose Sharks, who defeated the Ducks 5-3 on Jan. 20, possess a worse record at 14-32-4.
The Ducks have a chance to avenge that loss as they close out the month of January tonight against their counterparts from the north. Winning the game will come down to the performance of several key players. Troy Terry is one of those players. He has been the best player for the Ducks this month and as such will be relied upon to lead the Ducks in a game they should absolutely win.
