Hockey Hall of Famer Phil Esposito has built an entire second legacy post-playing career as the founder of the Tampa Bay Lightning. He’s now in the team’s hall of fame and has been the radio color commentator alongside Dave Miskin for years. However, there is an alternate reality in which Esposito remains exclusively known for being a legendary player with no place in Tampa Bay sports history.
Lightning Affiliates Both Win Playoff Series to Advance to Next Round

While the Tampa Bay Lightning lost in their first-round series, their American Hockey League and ECHL affiliates advanced out of the first round in their respective playoffs. On Friday (May 10), the Syracuse Crunch defeated the Rochester Americans 5-2 in their Game 5 finale. The Orlando Solar Bears advanced to the second round when they defeated the Greenville Swamp Rabbits in six games.

Lightning Players Participating in the 2024 IIHF World Championship

The 2024 IIHF World Championship is set to begin in Czechia on Friday when sixteen countries will battle for the men’s world championship crown. The competition is not without its Tampa Bay Lightning representation. Four players will represent three countries on the international stage: Victor Hedman (Sweden), Mikey Eyssimont (USA), Nick Paul (Canada) and Brandon Hagel (Canada).
