Filip Chytil Could be Rangers’ X-Factor for 2024-25 Season
June 23, 2024 by Brian Abate
The New York Rangers began the season with high expectations for Filip Chytil and he earned a spot as the team’s second-line center. However, a concussion kept him out of the lineup for more than six months and his long history of concussions is very concerning.
Rangers Targeting Steven Stamkos Makes Perfect Sense
June 23, 2024 by Jesse Courville-Lynch
The New York Rangers had a strong 2023-24 campaign and will be focused on building on it as they head toward the 2024-25 season. With some tough decisions to make this off-season, the Rangers will be trying to make themselves more competitive as they try to make a run for their first Stanley Cup since 1994. This postseason, they were able to get to the Eastern Conference Final, where they lost to the Florida Panthers and had a good run, taking out both the Washington Capitals and Carolina Hurricanes. While one of the Rangers’ main focuses will be re-signing star goaltender Igor Shesterkin to an extension, they will still have to spend some time trying to bolster their game at both ends of the ice. Whether that involves trading away some pieces to change up their team or being aggressive in free agency, the Rangers will need to make some changes if they want to be a championship contender next season.

3 Centers the Rangers Could Target in Free Agency
June 24, 2024 by Lucas Standel
As we get closer to NHL Free Agency opening up, most would say that the biggest need the New York Rangers have to fill is finding a legit top-six right winger to play alongside Mika Zibanejad and Chris Kreider. However, another area of concern that might just be as important is addressing the team’s center depth. After Zibanejad and Vincent Trocheck, you have Filip Chytil, who while he is a very good player, missed all but ten games during the regular season and played in just six playoff games. He has a history of suffering concussions and if he or one of the other two top centers get injured, the Rangers’ center depth takes a massive hit.
