Washington Capitals 2024 Draft Target: Michael Brandsegg-Nygård
June 21, 2024 by Nathan Moser
Many solid European skaters will be chosen in the upcoming 2024 NHL Entry Draft. Some of the top-ranked talents include forward Ivan Demidov, center Konsta Helenius, defenseman Adam Jiricek, and winger Michael Brandsegg-Nygård. Brandsegg-Nygård specifically is one of the top talents from Norway in this upcoming class, along with blueliner Stian Solberg. He has been tied to a few different teams who could potentially draft him. If he is available for the Washington Capitals with the 17th overall selection, general manager (GM) Brian MacLellan could possibly pick him. He is one of the wingers, like Liam Greentree, who could go around where the Capitals currently reside in the first round.
Get to Know New Washington Capital Pierre-Luc Dubois
June 20, 2024 by Nathan Moser
The Darcy Kuemper experiment is officially over for the Washington Capitals. The team announced that they have traded the 34-year-old goalie to the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for forward Pierre-Luc Dubois. The 25-year-old center, who turns 26 later this month, has bounced around a few teams in recent seasons. Washington is his fourth stop in the NHL since he was drafted by the Columbus Blue Jackets with the third overall pick in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft. Here is some background about the newest member of the Capitals.

Capitals Should Pursue Jake Guentzel
June 20, 2024 by Nathan Moser
The 2024 NHL Entry Draft and free agency are on the horizon. It is a crazy time of year for all 32 clubs as they try to prepare for the 2024-25 season. Free agency, in particular, will be interesting, considering some of the names that might hit the market. Steven Stamkos has not re-signed with the Tampa Bay Lightning yet, Sam Reinhart does not have a new deal with the Florida Panthers, and veteran forward Jake Guentzel reportedly will not be returning to the Carolina Hurricanes after he was traded there in the middle of the 2023-24 campaign.
Analyzing the Capitals & Kings Dubois-for-Kuemper Trade
June 19, 2024 by Michael Ostrower
In what was expected to be a boring Wednesday, the NHL has seen two massive trades in the goaltending market occur. The Los Angeles Kings have traded center Pierre-Luc Dubois to the Washington Capitals for goaltender Darcy Kuemper. The Hockey Writers’ Jesse Courville-Lynch believed this trade made sense, and the two teams agreed, providing a change of scenery for the two former stars.
