Welcome to another edition of the Vancouver Canucks prospects report. Since we last met a few weeks ago, Jonathan Lekkerimaki has continued his goalscoring exploits in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL), Arshdeep Bains made his NHL debut and now has an impressive three games under his belt and finally Josh Bloom has hit his stride in the Ontario Hockey League.
All of that and more as we get going with the latest Canucks prospect report.
Abbotsford Canucks (AHL)
Bains got his first taste of the NHL this past week and didn’t look out of place. He made his debut on Feb. 20 against the Colorado Avalanche and had a couple of chances to record his first point. And then, if not for a great save by Seattle Kraken goaltender Philipp Grubauer on Feb. 22, he would have had his first goal. Over three games so far, he has three shots and four penalty minutes all while averaging 12:33 of ice time.
Fun fact: Bains is only the fourth Punjabi player to play in the NHL.
