Patrik Allvin, Jim Nill & Bill Zito Named 2024 Manager of the Year Finalists

The NHL announced Vancouver Canucks’ Patrik Allvin, Dallas Stars’ Jim Nill, and Florida Panthers’ Bill Zito as the finalists for the 2023-24 Jim Gregory General Manager of the Year Award. The award recognizes the work of the top NHL general manager each season and has been an award since 2010.
Former Coyotes Coach Rick Tocchet’s Influence on Conor Garland’s Career

Both head coach Rick Tocchet and forward Conor Garland have spent time together with the Arizona Coyotes and Vancouver Canucks. Tocchet, a former NHL player and three-time Stanley Cup champion (one as a player and two as a coach), has over 20 years of coaching experience. Garland was a fifth-round selection in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft by the Coyotes and has made a name for himself in the league. However, without the impact of Tocchet’s coaching, Garland may not have elevated his game to where it is today.

Canucks Forgotten Ones: Michael Peca

Michael Peca is mostly known for his time with the Buffalo Sabres and New York Islanders, but during the 1992 NHL Draft, the Canucks selected the Toronto, Ontario native 40th overall. He ended up playing only 37 games in the orange and black before getting traded in the package to acquire superstar Alexander Mogilny from the Sabres in 1995.
Vancouver Canucks’ Rick Tocchet Wins Jack Adams Award

Vancouver Canucks head coach Rick Tocchet has won the 2024 Jack Adams Award, given to the head coach deemed to have contributed the most to his team’s success. This should come as no surprise to fans who saw the Canucks win the Pacific Division with 109 points, 26 points more than last season.
