The Canadiens (12-12-3) are going up against the Nashville Predators (14-13-0) tonight. The Habs secured a 3-2 overtime win over the Sabres last night and are looking to get another against Nashville.
The Predators, on the other hand, suffered a 4-0 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs last night, so are looking for redemption tonight. They also have won seven out of their last 10 games.
Let’s now take a look at the Habs’ projected lineup, game notes, and predictions.
Canadiens’ Projected Lines & Defence Pairings
Caufield - Suzuki - Slafkovsky
Evans - Monahan - Anderson
Pezzetta - Dvorak - Gallagher
Armia - Stephens - Ylonen
Matheson - Savard
Guhle - Barron
Struble - Kovacevic/Lindstrom
Allen
Savard Returning
The Canadiens announced that David Savard will return for them tonight. He has not played since Oct. 23 against the Buffalo Sabres, so this is big news.
Savard is a strong part of the Canadiens’ right side, so his return is very good for the club. He will be looking to make a big impact. As for the defenseman being scratched in Savard’s place, that decision will be made after warmup, as relayed by Eric Engels.
Pearson Injured, Pezzetta In
Tanner Pearson will not be in the lineup. The veteran winger left last night’s game early after taking a shot to the left hand. Because of this, Michael Pezzetta is back in for Montreal.
No update has been provided on Pearson at the time of this writing. As for Pezzetta, he will be looking to impress after being scratched last game.
Predictions
After a big game against Buffalo, I am expecting another strong performance from Juraj Slafkovsky. He is looking very confident right now, and a multi-point game could be on the way because of it.
Jake Allen has had a rough go of things as of late. However, I think he turns it around tonight against the Predators and has an excellent start.
As for a final score prediction, I think that the Canadiens will take this one by a 4-1 final score.
It will be fun to see how the Canadiens perform against the Predators.
Get serious about your prediction. Our forwards are being run and WiFi is in the minors. Coaching and management need to open their eyes and their common sense.
