Canadiens Must Fill 3 Holes Before They Can Contend for Stanley Cup
May 12, 2024 by Ryan Szporer
The Montreal Canadiens have undeniable organizational depth at each position. However depth isn’t necessarily a good thing, when:
Many of the players you’ve got at those positions, while NHL-calibre in quality, lack the skill to put you over the top.
Many of those same players carry bad contracts, which can’t realistically be traded, further preventing the team from addressing their most pressing needs.
3 Highlights From Juraj Slafkovsky’s Sophomore Season With Canadiens
May 13, 2024 by Karine Hains
If there is such a thing as the sophomore jinx, you wouldn’t have known it watching Juraj Slafkovsky play last season. He arrived at camp and found chemistry with Kirby Dach right away. Unfortunately for Dach and Slavkovsky, however, the former got a season-ending injury. The latter bounced from line to line before finally landing on Nick Suzuki’s wing alongside Cole Caufield. Slafkovsky seemed to improve on a nightly basis this past year and here are three of my favorite highlights from the young Slovak’s season.

Canadiens’ Defensemen: Who Stays & Who Goes?
May 11, 2024 by Karine Hains
The Montreal Canadiens have gotten themselves in quite a pickle on the blue line. Drafting the best player available has merit, but when your cupboard is full of defensemen, you need to take stock and decide who stays and who goes. The Canadiens have veterans, young veterans, rookies, and prospects—they have them all. What the Habs don’t have, however, is enough top-six players.
