Craig Berube Wins Over the Leafs
The team completed a massive first step to restructuring: finding a new head coach. On Friday (May 17), the Leafs hired head coach Craig Berube as the 32nd head coach in Leafs history and hopefully to snap the team’s playoff deadlock. As it would’ve been nice to have Rod Brind’Amour, whose contract is officially up after the Carolina Hurricanes were knocked out of the playoffs, Berube seems the right choice, considering the Stanley Cup ring on his resume. He has much to learn as a head coach despite swapping between head coach and assistant coach within the Philadelphia Flyers and St. Louis Blues franchises in the last 20 NHL seasons.
