He’s 35 years old, 5-foot-9 and 175 pounds. However, for some reason, the Toronto Maple Leafs can’t stop Brad Marchand. After scoring the winning goal and setting up the insurance goal in the Bruins’ 3-1 Game 4 win, Marchand has five points in his last two games (three goals and two assists) and eight points in the four games played in this series. Say all you want about his antics on the ice and how he gets away with what he does, Marchand has been a force throughout this series.
Bruins Power Play Surging in Playoffs

It’s no secret that the Boston Bruins finished their regular season with significant concerns regarding their power play. When the calendar turned to 2024, the Bruins’ power play conversion rate stood at 18.2%. Out of 137 power play opportunities, they managed just 25 goals. In contrast, they converted 29 out of their initial 106 opportunities during the season, boasting a 27.3% success rate. To stand toe-to-toe against a formidable team like the Toronto Maple Leafs, it was clear that the Bruins needed to emulate their 2023 form rather than the lackluster performance that had become the norm in 2024.

Brad Marchand Sets Bruins Playoff Goal Record

The Boston Bruins’ Brad Marchand is known for many things, but scoring goals is not at the top of the list of things used to describe his hockey accomplishments.
However, with his power-play goal in the second period of the Bruins’ 2024 NHL playoff series against the Toronto Maple Leafs, the 35-year-old has surpassed Cam Neely for the most playoff goals in Bruins history.
