Bruins Still Have Room to Improve Following Bye Week
January 30, 2024 by Brandon Share-Cohen
The Boston Bruins are entering their bye week with a 31-9-9 record. Their 71 points tie them for first in the NHL with the Vancouver Canucks and have silenced many naysayers who expected the Bruins to potentially fall out of a playoff spot this season. In all fairness, the team did lose some major contributors during the offseason and was expected to be significantly worse this season than last season; though the team isn’t as good as the record-setting team that took to the ice from last year, this team has proven to be more than good enough to compete on any given night.

The Bruins finished strong, winning their last games on the road over the Ottawa Senators and Flyers after closing out a five-game homestand with a disappointing 3-2 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes.Â

You know what you are going to get from David Pastrnak, Brad Marchand, Charlie McAvoy, and Hampus Lindholm, but it’s been the other players who have stepped up through the first 49 games of the 2023-24 season that have been somewhat of a surprise. Here are three Bruins who have been a big surprise this season and played a role in their 31-9-9 record.
