Oilers & Blues Emerging as Potential Trade Partners
February 24, 2024 by Jesse Courville-Lynch
Since their 16-game winning streak slingshotted them up the standings, the Edmonton Oilers have found themselves in a bit of a rut. They are 4-4-1 since their 16th win of the winning streak and have struggled to find consistent, strong play throughout their lineup. With the March 8th deadline approaching fast, the Oilers are expected to become more active in hopes of bolstering their lineup and building a team strong enough to make a push for a Stanley Cup. Pavel Buchnevich from the St. Louis Blues seems to be an ideal option for the Oilers, and the two teams could emerge as trade partners.Â

They placed defenseman Justin Faulk on long-term injured reserve and Scott Perunovich on injured reserve, which led to Bolduc getting called up to the NHL from the Springfield Thunderbirds of the American Hockey League (AHL).

February 21, 2024 by Anthony Testaguzza

On Feb. 13, in a 4-1 loss against the Toronto Maple Leafs, Nathan Walker was one of the very few Blues players who continued to battle for the puck, including a big hit on Ryan Reaves. Despite only playing 19 games in the National Hockey League (NHL) this season and playing the best hockey of his career in the AHL (American Hockey League), he’s found a way to prove himself on a Blues team seeking a chance to hang on to a wild card spot, by getting a two-year extension from them on Jan. 9. So, was it worth it to extend him for two more years?
