On Thursday, Feb. 15, just hours ahead of their home game against the Colorado Avalanche, the Tampa Bay Lightning revealed a new alternate jersey. These new black jerseys were designed to honor the full winning history of the team. On the inside of the collar, you’ll find three years printed on it: ‘04, ‘20 and ‘21. These are three years they won the Stanley Cup.

The Lightning weren’t just announcing a third jersey, they would debut them on the ice that same night. Surprise! The team would wear them for six additional home games that season. Fans got to see these a lot in a short time.

There was a lot of hype leading up to the reveal. There were numerous opinions and numerous sales at the team shop ahead.
