Sharks Get Their First Win of the Season Over the Flyers

The San Jose Sharks faced off against the Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday (Nov. 7). They ended up walking away with their first win of the season with a final score of 2-1. They played a far-from-perfect game, but it was certainly one of the better outings that we’ve seen from the Sharks this season. Now that they have a win on the board, let’s take a look at what made it possible.

The San Jose Sharks are on a historic losing streak. It may not be the longest of all time, but it’s close. After 11 straight losses to start the season, how will they get the monkey off their back?
Their next game is on Tuesday, Nov. 7, against the Philadelphia Flyers, who many expected to be near the bottom of the standings along with the Sharks. They had a decent start but have started to regress, ranked sixth in the Metropolitan Division. This is one of the most winnable games the Sharks will have in the near future, but what do they need to do to finally walk away with a win?
Sharks Should Consider Retiring Joe Thornton’s Jersey

On Feb. 23, 2023, the San Jose Sharks retired Patrick Marleau’s jersey after he set the record for most NHL games played in the league’s history. While the ceremony itself was beautiful, and many tears were shed, one moment stood out among the rest. Marleau’s long-time teammate and friend, Joe Thornton, not only attended the ceremony but stood by his side with tears in his eyes as No. 12 was raised to the rafters. It was a moment that showed the lifelong bond between not only two friends but the Sharks as well.
