4 Sharks Who Won’t Be Back in 2024-25
April 8, 2024 by Alex Hutton
Long eliminated from the playoffs, the San Jose Sharks are pivoting to what comes next. With a rebuilding roster and several young players and prospects on the rise, the opening night roster for the 2024-25 season will look very different from the current one. Several of the Sharks’ skaters are on career trajectories that simply don’t match up with where the team is, and the two sides would mutually benefit from a separation. The players can begin new chapters, and the team can create more room for players who will be part of San Jose’s future. Here are four Sharks currently on the team who we shouldn’t expect to see in teal next season.
Sharks’ Justin Bailey Deserving of Masterton Nomination
April 8, 2024 by William Espy
On Friday, the San Jose Sharks announced their candidate for the Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy, which is “awarded annually to the player who best exemplifies the qualities of perseverance, sportsmanship and dedication to ice hockey.” While their nominee, Justin Bailey, likely isn’t a favorite to win the award given the hardships some others have experienced over the course of the season, he’s certainly deserving of the nomination even though many fans around the league likely aren’t familiar with his story.
Sharks’ Addition of Collin Graf Adds to Significant Boston Ties
April 8, 2024 by William Espy
The San Jose Sharks announced on Thursday morning that they had signed top NCAA free agent Collin Graf to an entry-level contract that begins immediately. A native of Lincoln Massachusetts, he adds to the Sharks’ heavy ties with the Boston area. General manager Mike Grier is an alumnus of Boston University, as is head coach David Quinn who both played for and coached their hockey program. Last season, they acquired Harvard alumnus and Southborough native Henry Thrun who has been a mainstay on their blue line this season. Last but not least, they also drafted a current Boston College Eagle, Will Smith, fourth overall in the 2023 NHL Draft.

Sharks Split Weekend Back-to-Back Against Blues & Coyotes
April 8, 2024 by William Espy
Saturday afternoon’s game marked a special occasion for the San Jose Sharks. It was the debut of their most recent acquisition, 21-year-old Collin Graf. The former member of the NCAA’s Quinnipiac Bobcats signed with the Sharks on Thursday (April 4) and immediately joined the team. A part of the reason he picked the Sharks over the multitude of other teams gunning for his services was immediate NHL playing time and general manager Mike Grier made sure he was a man of his word.
Sharks’ Bystedt Gives Barracuda’s Final Games Meaning
April 3, 2024 by William Espy
Hockey has been tough to watch in San Jose this season. Not just the NHL’s San Jose Sharks, but their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the San Jose Barracuda, haven’t been great either. But Monday’s news made their final games much more interesting.
