Welcome to the THW Detroit Red Wings post-game report, where we bring an instant reaction, recap, and analysis of the action that transpired on the ice in tonight’s action against the Seattle Kraken.
The Red Wings took on the Seattle Kraken looking to push their win streak to 6 games.
First Period: Back-and-Forth Play
In the first period, both teams were able to get a few scoring chances with both Seattle’s Joey Daccord and the Wings’ Ville Husso making timely saves to keep the game tied after twenty minutes of play. Joe Veleno had a grade-a-scoring chance in the first two minutes of the game but found the crossbar on an open net opportunity. Dylan Larkin also had a breakaway opportunity but was unable to get a shot behind Daccord.
End of 1st Period: 0-0
Shots: 11-11
Second Period: Kraken Control and Take Lead
So far this season, the second period seemed to be where the Red Wings have gotten their offensive game really going, but tonight it was roles reversed with the Kraken getting their’s going with 3 goals in the period (with a little help from a no-call on an apparent thrown stick by Jaden Schwartz).
