It is wild to think that we are at the point of the regular season where there are fewer than four games before the 2024 NHL Playoffs begin. The Carolina Hurricanes are on their last road trip of the regular season which sees them taking on the St. Louis Blues, Chicago Blackhawks, and the Columbus Blue Jackets. They’ve already secured their playoff spot a couple of weeks ago after winning 4-0 over the Detroit Red Wings.
Hurricanes’ Cap Situation Could Force a Martin Necas Trade

Recently on 32 Thoughts: The Podcast, Elliotte Friedman and Jeff Marek discussed that the Carolina Hurricanes could be forced into moving on from 25-year-old forward Martin Necas. The forward has had a strong season, recording 24 goals and 53 points in 73 games for the Stanley Cup hopefuls. However, due to salary concerns, he may be the odd man out this offseason.

Hurricanes’ Jarvis Hits 30-Goal Plateau for First Time

What a year it’s been for Seth Jarvis of the Carolina Hurricanes.
In just his third NHL season, Jarvis reached a personal landmark with his 30th goal of 2023-24 in the visiting Hurricanes’ 4-1 victory over the Boston Bruins on Tuesday night.
Jarvis’ goal was a short-handed effort (see video below) for Carolina’s final goal of the night. On the play, he skated down the left wing and shot wide before retrieving the puck behind the net, moving around to the right side and banging home a backhand off of goaltender Jeremy Swayman.

They are still in the hunt for the top seed in the Eastern Conference and have a shot at the Presidents’ Trophy.
