We are officially nearing the end of the Chicago Blackhawks 2023-24 season. We’ve known since October that a postseason berth was out of the question, but the completion of another campaign is bittersweet nonetheless. Even as golf courses and summer trips await, there’s still no shortage of news and rumors surrounding the Blackhawks in the last few weeks of the season. Let’s get to the latest.

The Blackhawks are winding down their season, with only a handful of relatively meaningless games left. Sure, the coaches and players are still trying to end the 2023-24 campaign on a high note. But wins and losses don’t really matter at this point. The focus now is on instilling teaching points, and giving valuable experience to the youngsters, which can translate into more success next season. Everyone is doing a little bit of reflecting, as well as thinking about what the future may hold. With all that in mind, let’s get to some fun quotes and quips from the last few weeks.

Blackhawks Sign Nick Lardis to 3-year Entry-level Contract

On April 3rd the Chicago Blackhawks announced that they had agreed to terms with prospect Nick Lardis on a three-year entry-level contract that will begin next season with an average annual value of $896,667 per season. Lardis was selected by the Blackhawks in the third round of the 2023 NHL Draft in Nashville after an excellent sophomore season in the OHL (Ontario Hockey League) where he scored an impressive 65 points split between the Peterborough Petes and Hamilton Bulldogs.
